The 88th Annual Academy Awards are only days away and with Chris Rock hosting the ceremony on Sunday, February 29th at 5:30 PM, the event is sure to be must-see TV. If you are hosting an Oscars party or get together, here are a few tips for throwing an excellent party.
Popcorn bar: nothing says “movies” like a bucket of popcorn. Clear out a table in your apartment and make it a popcorn bar. Be sure to put out a host of delicious sides to add into the popcorn. Things like jalapenos, cheese, tapatio, butter, honey, and any other topping your tastes buds might desire.
Make your own ballot: the Oscars have a history of getting things wrong, so why not make your own ballet and have your guest vote. Compile the results before the start of the event and ready along your winners during the show.
Red carpet photo booth: everyone loves to take pictures, so buy a few props—hats, glasses, funny noses, whatever comes to mind—and create an Oscars themed background and let your guest take a few pictures.
