Thanksgiving Tips: Black Pepper Biscuit Recipe

Are you ready to make a batch of biscuits so tasty they melt in your mouth? We know Thanksgiving is busy, and most people opt for store bought biscuits, but this year why not take the extra time to make them from scratch? Here is a simply recipe.

Ingredients

4 cups of all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons of baking powder
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon of salt
12 tablespoons of butter
1 1/2 cups of cold buttermilk
1/2 cup of heavy cream
2 tablespoons of black pepper
4 tablespoons of melted butter

Set your oven to 450 degrees F and then start to combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt into a food processor. Lightly mix, just to scatter the ingredients. Now add in the butter and pulse the processor 4 or 5 times. Next throw in the buttermilk and pulse until the ingredients come together.

Take the dough out and pat into 12-inch rectangles, 3/4-inch thick. Next use a round cutter to make 8 biscuits. Ball up the remaining dough and repeat the cutting process. Next brush the tops of the dough with cream and top with a pinch of black pepper. Try baking the biscuits for approximately 15 minutes.
